Our Team

Kristina Brown, Executive Director

Kristina has been leading the Sowing for Health team since its inception in 2020. It was through Kristina’s desire to start a nonprofit that SFH was established following months of crisis due to the devastating impact of a global pandemic: COVID-19. Since 2020, the organization under her guidance and support has been able to partner with local caterers, nonprofits and other collaborative organizations to serve thousands of meals to underserved communities throughout South Florida.

Katherine Prince, Programs Director

Katherine has been a licensed educator in Florida for over 10 years. Her expertise in leading and designing programs comes from years creating curriculum and lessons to help her students. Under her direction, SFH has provided support to students that have struggled with the post-COVID academic environment. Academic support has been provided in the form of tutoring, parent engagement sessions, transitions from the traditional classroom to navigating the online classroom.

Ozzie Hernandez, Operations Director

Ozzie has owned, operated and sold many successful food and restaurant businesses over the past 35 years. He has perfected healthy menus for schools, fed the elderly, and oversaw teams of 100s of people for large events and galas. His accounting and logistical background have helped SFH establish the many connections it has over the past few years. He is also the force behind SFH’s nutrition initiatives.

Rachel Hernandez, Administrative Assistant

For over 25 years, Rachel has provided organizations with bookkeeping, human resources, and recordkeeping administration support. She has worked to support government and corporate agencies in maintaining the day-to-day administration needs in order. At SFH she is the main reason so many established processes have been launched successfully.
